Are the least common type of foundation used in commercial construction. They are typically only used in areas where the soil is not suitable for a slab-on-grade or pier-and-beam foundation. Crawl space foundations are created by digging a hole in the ground and then pouring a concrete floor into it. The walls of the building are then built on top of this concrete floor.
